About the Role We are looking for a proactive Jira Administrator to manage, configure, and optimize our Atlassian environment. You will collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to align Jira with agile workflows, automate processes, and ensure robust reporting to drive operational efficiency. The goal is to optimize the Jira environment for efficient project management and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage user accounts, permissions, groups, project roles, and license utilization.
- Enforce Jira governance standards, including naming conventions, issue taxonomies, and field policies.
- Own instance performance and hygiene, including project/issue archival and regular system health audits.
- Plan and execute platform upgrades, patches, and Data Center migrations.
- Design, test, and implement custom workflows, fields, screens, and post-functions.
- Build automation rules using Jira Automation and third-party apps.
- Configure and maintain Scrum and Kanban boards to support agile delivery.
- Manage integrations between Jira and external tools, such as Confluence, Slack, GitHub, Bitbucket, and CI/CD.
- Create and maintain advanced JQL filters, dashboards, and custom reports to track KPIs and team velocity.
- Utilize REST APIs for custom integrations and data extraction when required.
- Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, user queries, and Atlassian support escalation.
- Provide onboarding, training, and maintain documentation on system configurations.
Requirements
- Have 3–6 years of hands-on Jira Administration experience.
- Possess proficiency in Jira Data Center (Software & Service Management).
- Have a strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe methodologies.
- Have advanced JQL knowledge, workflow design, and user permission management skills.
- Possess strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Good to Have
- Hold an Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certification.
- Have experience with Confluence administration and ScriptRunner (Groovy scripting).
- Be familiar with Jira REST APIs and Cloud/Data Center migrations.
- Have a background in ITSM or ITIL frameworks.
