Job Description

Kubernetes Administrator + PostgreSQL DBA Chennai · Full-time · Hybrid

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes Administrator with PostgreSQL DBA expertise to manage, maintain, and optimize containerized application platforms and PostgreSQL database environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Kubernetes cluster administration, PostgreSQL database operations, and production support. The role requires experience in managing production-critical environments and strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
Perform cluster installation, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
Manage namespaces, deployments, services, ingress controllers, and storage classes.
Configure and maintain Kubernetes networking and security policies.
Monitor cluster health, resource utilization, and performance.
Troubleshoot pod, node, networking, storage, and application issues.
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
Perform database performance monitoring and tuning.
Manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery activities.

Requirements

Manage container registries and image lifecycle processes.
Implement auto-scaling and workload optimization.
Support CI/CD integration with Kubernetes deployments.
Automate Kubernetes administration using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Implement and maintain PostgreSQL replication solutions.
Configure High Availability (HA) and failover mechanisms.
Monitor database health, storage growth, and capacity planning.
Troubleshoot database performance and connectivity issues.

Good to Have

Experience with Rancher/OpenShift.
Experience with Splunk.
Experience with Python.
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Amazon EKS, or Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
