Purpose of the role

The Digital and Technology team of General Mills India Centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to contribute as a

Principal D&T Architect - Business Intelligence. This role will report into D&T Head/Sr.Manager, DIV in India and functionally collaborate

with the various verticals of General Mills.

The Data Insights & Visualization team caters to various reporting, visualization & insights initiatives to support and aid in decision making

for various Operating Units and Business functions. The team operates in Agile manner and works in partnership with product teams to

deliver turnkey BI solutions.

This individual contributor role of Principal D&T Architect - Business Intelligence would work alongside other Enterprise/BI Architect for

developing and executing BI Architecture through partnership with D&T, functions, and Operating units. The person will collaborate and

partner with various D&T teams to collectively deliver on the problem statement through optimum, standardized & user-friendly solution.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Product Design, Development & Analytics:

· Support/Partner on various BI Enterprise Application servers, security, and users.

· Collaborate effectively across functions to solve problem spanning in their respective areas and resolve technological disagreement

with informed, rational solutions.

· Enterprise semantic-layer strategy across Looker/LookML, BigQuery, Tableau and related platforms. Develop Business Intelligence Roadmap and adhere to the defined Enterprise Architecture standards technology and capability roadmap with senior leaders. · Responsible for identification of technical acumen through research, analysis, profiling, and data mining on clinical ancillary systems. · RAG design, grounding, agent instructions, knowledge/context management and hallucination reduction. · Business engagement by conducting meetings/interviews and facilitating large-group/cross-functional sessions with customers, while containing the scope of the initiative. · LookML architecture, reusable modeling patterns, multi-domain project structure and performance tuning. Provide leadership and technical expertise in evolving our Business Intelligence ecosystem and tool rationalization efforts. · Agent architecture, multi-step orchestration, tool/MCP integration and interoperable data pipelines. Lead design, code & process review sessions to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and performance guidelines. · Governed KPI and metric definitions, canonical dates, business glossary, synonyms, ownership, versioning and known caveats. · Responsible for identification of technical acumen through research, analysis, profiling, and data mining on clinical ancillary systems. · Agent lifecycle governance: intake, data/analytic management plans, approval, publishing, auditability and observability. · Develop technical architectures and prototypes for solutions (dashboards, portal pages, metrics, etc.) through coordination with enterprise architect teams. · Familiarity with data modelling concepts and techniques using BigQuery, SQL and other analytics tools like python/R. · Semantic-layer governance, Git workflows, code reviews, CI/CD, testing and change control. · Ability to troubleshoot technical and performance related issues in Business Intelligence tools and BigQuery. · Collaborate and contribute towards strategic and tactical decisions that impact decision support, product design and analytics. Strategy & Collaboration: · Translate ambiguous business problems into semantic models, AI-enabled BI experiences and architecture decisions. · Lead POCs and technology assessments based on accuracy, security, scalability, performance, integration effort and cost. · Define enterprise standards, reusable patterns and tool-rationalization strategy · Play the role of ‘translator’ by effectively dissecting business challenges into impactful dashboard designs and technical builds. · Partner along with product team with business stakeholders to understand project requirements and lead BI engagement, execution & delivery. · Detail-oriented, a strong communicator, incredibly curious, and technically capable with a desire to discover and deliver data-driven business insights to fuel our data-driven culture and help us make informed business decisions. · Collaborate with teams across functions to set internal benchmarks, develop critical metrics for new initiatives, and recommend best practices. · Coordinate triage efforts, resolve user issues and system improvements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· 15+ years of total experience with 10+ years of relevant experience working experience in Business Intelligence Architecture space

(POC, technical assessment, Infrastructure ecosystem, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing)

· Deep experience building enterprise semantic layers (e.g., Power BI DataMart/Composite Models, Cube.js, dbt Semantic Layer,

LookML).

· Strong communication skills, capable of translating business requests into technical requirements and articulating the pros and

cons of different technologies, platforms, design, and architectural options.

· Proficient in data and analytics tools and services preferably in Google Cloud Platform

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Thought-driven leadership to successfully deliver scalable team management and business solutions.

· Knowledge of latest Business Intelligence landscape and other programming language is a plus.
