Design Convergence Lead Pune, Chennai · Full-time · Hybrid


About the Role As a Design Convergence Lead, you will be part of a team transforming the future of the mobility industry by developing solutions for autonomous vehicles, electric mobility, and digitalisation. You will work on projects integrating the latest technologies to enhance vehicle safety, efficiency, and environmental impact. The role involves creating safer, smarter, and greener transportation solutions, and you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the automotive industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide aesthetical and functional requirements for sourcing.
  • Converge function, assembly, and manufacturing process requirements.
  • Define and ensure datum schemes.
  • Ensure all aesthetical and functional requirements are captured in drawings with critical functional characteristics in CAD tools or Excel.
  • Converge GD&T with suppliers to meet gap and flush and functional requirements.
  • Review and approve supplier GD&T reports.
  • Converge supplier part inspection plans with requirements and commitments.
  • Perform and validate stackup studies (RSS/VSA) and provide suggestions and proposals.
  • Propose and converge design or tolerance to meet gap and flush/functional requirements.
  • Define measurement roadmaps and review supplier part inspection plans.
  • Review gauge design concepts and approve.
  • Ensure design practices are followed.
  • Analyze measurement data.
  • Sign-off tooling, tolerance concession agreements, and PPAP approvals.
  • Support vehicle builds, plant issues, and provide solutions.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices.

Requirements

  • Have 6-8 years of experience in the field.
  • Have hands-on experience in Exterior and Interior trim parts for datum and tolerances.
  • Have hands-on experience with ASME/ISO GD&T standards.
  • Have hands-on experience with Nx or Catia CAD tools.
  • Have hands-on experience with Teamcenter or PLM applications.
  • Have hands-on experience with RSS stackup studies.
  • Have knowledge of 3DCS or Vis VSA.
  • Have knowledge of gauge and fixture concept design.
  • Have knowledge of CMM measurement and part measuring methods.
  • Have knowledge of plastic parts and manufacturing processes.
  • Have knowledge of statistical process control and measurement data analysis.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Have good convergence skills.
  • Have hands-on experience with launch processes.
  • Have knowledge of issue resolution.
